Old 121 Brewhouse to Launch Expanded Lakewood Taproom with Beer Garden, Live Music, and New Brews on Dec. 6
Key Takeaways
Old 121 Brewhouse is making a bigger splash in Lakewood with a new flagship location that will feature more space, more brews and more events to the community. It has a 60-seat indoor taproom, a beer garden with space for more than 70 guests with a 15 BBL brewhouse to bring out new and shared brews. The grand opening celebration on December 6 will include live music, a ribbon cutting, and a full day of activities honoring the brewery’s expansion and local roots.
A press release from Old 121 Brewhouse revealed that construction and permitting has been taking place for the past 3 months as Old 121 has expanded bathrooms, upgraded fixtures, and expanded the outdoor seating area for the transition from the former Great Frontier Brewing space to a new 60-seat taproom (plus room for over 70 people in the beer garden) and 15 BBL brewhouse.
On December 6, the West Metro Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a ribbon cutting at 1 PM and there will be live music with Meghan Cave Duo from 2 – 4 PM and The One and Only Jon Ham from 5 – 7 PM. Old 121 will also have new beers on tap like a Czech Pils, Pale Ale, and collaborations with Milieu Fermentation, Lady Justice Brewing, Palisade Brewing, and Paramount Beerwerks.
“We are so excited to start welcoming everyone into our new space,” says Owner Katie Nicholson. “Sam, Bobby, and myself love being part of the community here in Lakewood and we wouldn’t be here without our awesome neighbors and patrons. We also want to give a huge thank you and shout out to members of the Lakewood Economic Development Team, City Council and the Mayor, West Metro Fire, and everyone in the planning and permitting department for helping us get to this point.”
The new location will also begin programming in December and into January including live music every Saturday, Music Bingo, Trivia, and more. All event details will be listed at old121brewhouse.com.
While expanding the production of house favorites like the Old 121 Lager, West Coast IPA, and gold-medal-winning ESB, the brewery also will have Booze Bubbles Brut and Strawberry Sangria, Hard Root Beer, and NA options like house made Ginger Beer and Coconut Cream soda available for guests. The Pizza Bandit will also be open daily at the Oak St location, beginning on December 6, to offer pizzas and more to hungry patrons.
The brewery will operate two locations in Lakewood. The flagship location at Oak St and the original location at 1057 S Wadsworth Blvd, Ste 60, Lakewood, CO 80226. The original location has been rebranded as Ye Olde 121 Public House, which offers expanded hours until midnight 6 nights a week, daily happy hours, almost exclusively lagers on tap, darts, new seating, and more. The Public House will also brew exclusive beers to that location on the 3 BBL brewhouse including Skeleton Spit (a hoppy lager), Colt 121 Malt Liquor, and Jimmy Beer (an American Light Lager).
