Reformation Brewery Plans New Community-Focused Location in Downtown Kennesaw
Key Takeaways
Reformation Brewery will be entering a new chapter in 2027 with a new home in downtown Kennesaw that will once again be centered on community. The proposed site will have multiple bars, a distillery and large outdoor areas for events and gatherings. In partnership with local developers, it signifies a shared vision to contribute to the city’s burgeoning downtown and offer neighbors a place to connect.
According to a press release from Reformation Brewery, the project is currently in development, with construction anticipated to begin in the near future and a hopeful opening timeline of 2027.
Located at the northwest corner of Main Street and J.O. Stephenson Avenue, the forthcoming site at 2861 Main St, Kennesaw, GA 30144 will serve as a flagship for Reformation’s growing spirits program. The expansion comes in partnership with developers Dale Hughes, Peter Coffman and Steve Harrell, who have followed Reformation’s journey and recognized shared values and a vision for community-driven spaces.
“Downtown Kennesaw is undergoing a thoughtful transformation that is attractive to a small business like Reformation. We can’t wait to take flight with this community,” said Spencer Nix, Co-Founder and CEO of Reformation Brewery. “We’re proud to be part of this reformation, offering a third space where neighbors can gather, connect, and celebrate life’s moments.”
A Place to Gather and Grow
The future venue will include two structures:
A two-story, 6,886 sq ft building featuring two distinct bar areas, including a wrap-around second-floor patio
A 1,300 sq ft standalone production facility, home to Reformation’s primary distilling operations
Outdoors, a large green space dubbed “Kennesaw’s Backyard” will offer an additional bar and open-air gathering space reminiscent of Reformation’s popular Woodstock location. The space will be designed with flexibility in mind—programmed for diverse events and curated experiences, including future private event space. Developer Dale Hughes had a vision years ago that this important corner of his hometown would become a place where the community gathers to find common grounds that unify us. Reformation provides that great third space.
While interior and exterior renderings are forthcoming, the plans reflect Reformation’s continued commitment to quality craftsmanship and inclusive community. The tap list is expected to feature 24 taps, showcasing a rotating mix of craft beer, ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails, non-alcoholic offerings, and handcrafted cocktails. Wine options and food partnerships are still being finalized.
An adjacent restaurant space in the historic Whistlestop building will be operated by a tenant to be announced.
A Shared Vision for Community
The Kennesaw expansion is not part of a broader growth campaign but rather the result of a shared vision between Reformation and the development team. “This began as a conversation and became a partnership,” said Nix. “We’re not chasing expansion for its own sake, but we are open to opportunities that align with our mission to serve communities and liberate moments that matter.”
Downtown Kennesaw has undergone a thoughtful transformation, emerging as a vibrant city center that blends historic charm with modern appeal. Anchored by Depot Park and the United Bankshares Amphitheater, the area has become a destination for concerts, festivals, farmers markets, and year-round events. The entertainment district designation allows patrons to enjoy beverages while strolling through local shops and diverse restaurants, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
“Kennesaw’s revitalized downtown is more than a place, it’s a reflection of our community’s spirit,” said Mayor Derek Easterling. “We’ve worked hard to create a space where people can connect, celebrate, and experience the best of what our city has to offer. Reformation Brewery’s presence will only enhance that vision.”
The city’s investment in its downtown has sparked new opportunities for retail, dining, and entertainment, attracting private partners who share a commitment to community-driven development. Reformation Brewery’s arrival marks another exciting chapter in this journey, one rooted in shared values, local pride, and a desire to create spaces where people belong.
Reformation Brewery has proudly served North Georgia since 2013 and continues to operate with a mission to connect people and inspire moments of authenticity, joy, and belonging.
