The Art of Beer Debuts March 14 at Ballast Point Brewing Company, Showcasing San Diego’s Creative Brewing Scene

On March 14th, there will be an exciting craft beer event taking place in San Diego. Dubbed ‘The Art of Beer’ and hosted by Ballast Point Brewing Company, it is an event where attendees will get to sample beers, enjoy art and interact directly with the folks who brew their favorite beers.

A press release from the organizers revealed that the main event runs from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., with a VIP early-access hour from 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m.

Advanced general admission tickets with unlimited tastings are available for $29 (plus fee) via Eventbrite here. VIP tickets are available for $99 (plus fee), and benefits include exclusive pours, curated food pairings, and a $10 gift card from each participating brewery.

Designed as an intentional alternative to large-scale beer festivals, the inaugural The Art of Beer at Ballast Point’s Little Italy location highlights not only what’s in the glass, but also the design, storytelling, and people behind each brew. The 21+ event blends limited-release tastings, label-art presentations, and direct access to brewers in a more intimate, art-forward setting.

Participating breweries thus far include: 3 Punk AlesCoronado BrewingFall BrewingHarland BrewingPizza PortSociete Brewing, and Stone Brewing. Each brewery will showcase multiple beers, including rare or limited releases for VIP guests. Attendees will vote for their favorites throughout the afternoon, with awards for Best Beer, Best Label, and more announced near closing.

“We created The Art of Beer to highlight the craftsmanship and originality that define great brewing,” said Ballast Point Director of Brand Experience Jeff Lozano. “Since this is an inaugural event, we’re starting in San Diego because the culture here truly sets the standard.”

San Diego is commonly referred to as The Capital of Craft™, a moniker that was trademarked in 2015. Following its San Diego debut, The Art of Beer is planned to expand to Ballast Point’s additional California locations, including Anaheim, Long Beach, and San Francisco.

“Coronado Brewing is beyond excited to be a part of the first-ever Art of Beer event,” said Coronado Brewing Head Brewer Chris Sartori. “We believe that the event truly represents and embodies what craft beer is and will become. It also pays homage to the collaborative spirit of San Diego craft beer and its rich culture.”
