Avery Just Released Their GABF Cellar Sale List and Good God
In case you hadn’t heard, a few weeks ago Avery Brewing Company announced that it would be opening up its cellar to offload a substantial amount of beer they’d been holding on to for some time. The Boulder-based brewery who over the past 24 years grew a reputation for their line of massive, high ABV beers as well as their highly regarded foil top sour series, will now reintroduce a number of those one-off releases back into the wild. This cellar sale is scheduled to take place Friday, October 6 at 11am at Avery to coincide with the week of the Great American Beer Festival.
In recent years those specialty releases have only been made available again at Avery’s lineup of in-house festivals such as Avery Sour Fest, Avery Strong Ale Fest and their Anniversary parties, however this will be the first opportunity for consumers to get a second opportunity to purchase these beers to-go.
Today Avery released that list, and it is a formidable lineup. While the number of cases available for each style and pricing have not yet been released, what we do know is that some vintages date back as early as 2001. More information can be gleaned here, but for now, have a look at this drool-worthy collection:

Just wish it wasn’t in the middle of the Denver Rare Beer Tasting.

Agreed Michael Kearns. Adam/Family: Can this be pushed to SUNDAY the 8th? After 16 years for some of these bottles, what’s the rush? I’ve been a long time volunteer and supporter of Pints for Prostates and the Brewer’s Health Initiative for many years and for all, please note that Avery Brewing Company, Adam Avery himself and the Avery family have been VERY big supporters of Pints for Prostates and the Denver Rare Beer Tour from its very inception so lest we all get in a huff, if the sale occurs on Friday so let it be. So shall it be. We all will find, trade, share those bottles over time among us geeks in solace. However, I still have to say…
Why not Sunday!?! Let’s all shake off the dust of GABF week, head to the Temple of Avery on Sunday the 8th as a wonderful cap of the week and recollection of our friends and family in the days that preceeded.
Any takers?
