2024 Colorado Beer Events & Festival Guide | February 2024

As Colorado’s winter kicks into gear, so do the major beer events and festivals designed to keep you warm and cozy. The arrival of February inherently triggers an onslaught of high-profile beer festivals and major events coinciding with the return of Stout Month. Additionally, we’ve begun rounding up major beer festivals, brewery anniversaries, grand openings, and events to look forward to in Centennial State with a greater showcase of some of our staff picks in the month of February. Be sure to check back often as we’ll be updating our list throughout the year.

Ratio Beerworks’ Genius Wizard Release Party

Friday, February 2nd | Mercury Cafe (Denver, CO) – 2199 California St, Denver, CO 80205

Going beyond just a normal beer release, Ratio Beerworks has truly evolved the yearly debut of Genius Wizard, their Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout, and transformed it into a one-of-a-kind beer experience. Each year the Denver-based brewery turns this release into a fully immersive experience and this year they’ve partnered with long-time art partner Shadows Gather as well as Laws Whiskey House to take the show on the road to the Mercury Cafe a much larger venue. Once again attendees will be treated to 4oz tastes of each Genius Wizard variant for the year as well as food from Uptown and Humboldt. This year attendees will also be treated to 1.5oz tastings of four Laws Whiskey House Bourbon and Rye Variants.

Day of Darks Beer Festival

New Belgium’s Lost in the Woods

Colorado’s originator of the fully immersive beer release experience, New Belgium’s Lost in the Woods remains one of the state’s most unique and jaw-dropping beer release events. Each year New Belgium transforms its foeder forest into a fully immersive experience inviting guests to dress the part of that year’s theme. In 2024, Lost in the Woods goes the way of a Storybook Slumber Party with 5 hidden bars and late-night themed snacks like popcorn, pizza rolls, and PB&J to commemorate the release of La Folie.

Joy on Tap

Thursday, Feburary 22nd – 7-10pm | Children’s Museum on Marsico Campus (Denver, CO)

One of the better emerging beer festivals in recent years, Joy on Tap held at Denver’s Children’s Museum showcases a healthy mix of local breweries paired with a wealth of catered small bites.

Joy on Tap puts a playful spin on the classic beer fest. Guests can spend the evening blowing bubbles, launching rockets, painting on a VW bug and so much more. Plus, proceeds support the Museum’s educational programming and initiatives.
