BREAKING | 2017 GABF’s New, Returning & Missing Breweries

Each year one of the most exciting aspects of the Great American Beer Festival is the ability to explore and sample some of the country’s best new breweries that have emerged on the scene. Additionally, it can be equally as rewarding to revisit some familiar faces you may only get to try once each year at the country’s largest beer showcase. However with the growing nature of the festival, and the Brewer’s Association’s move to a lottery system, we also tend to lose some familiar friends. As we’ve done each year, we’ve broken down the new / returning breweries as well as those who sadly aren’t coming back for this year’s Great American Beer Festival.

2017 New/Returning Breweries
This is the complete list of breweries who are attending GABF in 2017 who did not attend last year. Notable new and returning breweries that you shouldn’t miss include: Amplified Ale Works, Boomtown Brewery, Captain Lawrence Brewing, Cascade Brewing, Cellarmaker Brewing, Council Brewing Company, Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project, DC Brau Brewing, FiftyFifty Brewing Co, Forager Brewing, Funkwerks, Kuhnhenn Brewing Co, Ladyface Ale Company, Resolute Brewing Company, Scofflaw Brewing Co, Speciation Artisan Ales, The Wrecking Bar Brewpub, Three Floyds Brewing Co and Toppling Goliath.

2017 Missing Breweries
This is the complete list of breweries who attended last year’s fest, but will not be in attendance this year. The biggest disappoints include absences by J Wakefield, Jester King and New Glarus. Also interesting to note is that all Coors-owned craft-y breweries including Blue Moon, Terrapin, Saint Archer, Hop Valley and Revolver are notably absent with AC Golden and Coors Brewing as the only exceptions, as well as a majority of Anheuser-Busch InBev-owned The High End entities absent as well, excluding Four Peaks and Blue Point as the exceptions.

Yak and Yeti changed their name to Spice Trade this year. They are still attending.
