BareBottle Brewing Company has quickly risen to one of the trendiest breweries in Northern California. Opened by three friends that started as homebrewers, BareBottle pushes the limit with super popular hop combos and beer styles. One very unique aspect of BareBottle is that they give a nod to their homebrew experience by providing a 5-gallon recipe for all of their packaged beers directly on the bottle or can. That way you can take a shot at brewing any of the beers that you enjoy from them. Truly an ingenious idea!

Secret City IPA seems to be a nod to the city of San Francisco, where the brewery is located. I couldn’t get a definitive answer on the origin of the name but it seems like a nod to San Francisco from the images on the can (and from the name of the hops, Vic Secret). BareBottle are definitely known the most for their sours so it’s a no-brainer to pick up any of their hoppy beers that might catch your eye. This one was no different.

Secret City IPA pours a clear golden color with a big coarse head. Really nice bright color that is very inviting.

Aroma is big notes of pineapple, mango and other tropical fruits.

Taste is very bright and fruity. Lots of tropical fruit like in the aroma and maybe some apricot notes in there. Juicy and fruity with a slight hop bite.
